Age
Here's where some of the most basic information is
collected. It doesn't help anyone by submitting
the wrong age. You can view the results after you
have voted. Each survey question is separate from
another. If you choose not to answer a survey
question you may move another to the next. The
survey system treats each question individually.
OK, So let's get started. |
| |
Marital Status
Your marital status helps define the sampling
group just a little more. Again, these are some
basic statistical survey questions. If you are
separated but not divorced you should should
choose divorced. |
| |
Education Level
Cyclists come from all education levels so there's
no reason to make everyone believe you're a rocket
scientist. It's important that the submitted
information be as accurate as possible. Don't try to impress anyone
because we don't
know who you are. |
| |
Income level
If you are a student - select student. If you're
working full time or part time, select the closest
approximate earnings category. If you are not
working or between jobs choose the income category
of your most recent position. |
| |
Location of Home
If you're a student, select the location of where
you spend the majority of the year.
Example:
If you're a student at the University of Missouri
in Columbia you should choose Columbia. If you
live just outside a listed city you may choose
that city.
Example:
If you live in Illinois just across the river from
St. Louis you may select St. Louis since you are
in the metro area. Same is true for Kansas City,
etc. |

Internet Connect
If you're reading this you're on the internet.
Select the method that you use most often to view
this website. Remember you can only choose one
selection. |
| |
Viewing Frequency
Choose the best response that represents your
viewing habits of this stlbiking. This website has
software that tracks: hits, number of viewers,
page views etc but the tracking software doesn't
track how often the same viewer logs back on. This
one will be interesting. |
| |
Interest Level
This section helps gauge the interest level of
cycling of the typical website viewer. It has
nothing to do with capability of the viewer. I'm
expecting the results to change as the time span
of the survey continues through time. |
| |
Road Racing Capability
This survey will really pinpoint some important
demographics. If you don't know what category you
fit into then maybe you need to pass on this
survey question. It's not necessary to complete
each section. If you do enter bicycle road races
select your true category. This is not a good
place to "cat up" or to "sandbag". |
| |
Mountain Bike Race Capability
Just like in the question above, if you don't know
your category maybe you should should pass on this
question. Remember not to "cat up" or "sandbag"
your selection. No one knows who you are so
there's nothing to gain by selecting inaccurate
choices. |
| |
Riding
Frequency
This one is pretty simple. It's not the length or
time of your typical ride. It's just how often.
Even if you just ride around the block a few times
it counts as one day. Do the math and make your
selection. Let the numbers do the talking. |
| |
Typical Ride Length
We are asking for your typical ride length here.
Not sure? Then just make your best guess. Mountain
bikers may have to guess more than road riders.
For those of you who join group rides this should
be fairly easy. Use your best judgment. |
| |
Typical Ride Duration
We are asking how long you ride when you do. It's
not about speed but rather the duration of your
typical ride. Again, use your best judgment when
making your selection. |
| |
Commuting To Work
This is an area of interest to a number of
cyclists who transverse our streets to make a
living in various climate coniditions. |
| |
Bike or Bikes
This should be a no brainer. If you're not sure go
out to the garage and count them. Sorry, you can't
count bikes owned by other family members. |
| |
Manufacturer
We are asking for a brand name not model name.
This survey is quite different than the others.
It's fill in the blank not multiple choice. It's
important to spell the company's name correctly or
the system can mix the choices together. Be sure
the 1st letter is capitalized.
Example:
Cannondale, Trek, Specializied. You can insert a
two word name such as Gary Fisher. Keep it simple.
This survey is an experiment at best. |
| |
Bike Rack
We are asking for bike rack styles or designs not
name brands. Back to the basic multiple choice.
This one is easy. |
| |
Automobile
This question is asking about the type of vehicle
you drive. I was just wondering if cyclists
include cycling when choosing to make an vehicle
before they make a purchase. Is there a trend? I'm
not sure. We're going to find out together. |
| |
Classified Ads
I'm sure the typical cyclist buys and sells bikes
all the time but do they use the Stlbiking
classifieds to sell their old bikes? |
