France’s virulent anti-gay movement is now targeting the Tour de France.
After protesting France’s new same-sex marriage law during Sunday’s French Open final, the protest group calling itself Hommen is promising to use the 21-stage Tour as a platform for its message.
According to a web report from The Atlantic, which describes Hommen as a “homoerotic anti-gay group in France,” the group promises not to disrupt the race or otherwise hamper the event, but instead vows to line the side of the road with its members.
Unlike Rolland Garros, which is held inside a controlled stadium, the Tour is held on open road, which could prove troublesome for race organizers.
The Tour is often the target for protest groups, which sometimes block roads and threaten to stop the race.
- selling a 2001 schwinn fasback pro I believe it's a 56, so it's a bit small for me. just not really into road biking that much anymore. n'litened aluminum frame, ultegra drivetrain, reynolds carbon fork, shifting is spot on. great beginner bike, the only thing not stock on the bike is the wheelset, the original had some cracks around the nipples, so it's a sun cr18 rear and mavic open pro front. great bike, mechanic owned and maintained. asking 450, but shoot me an offer (not a ridiculous one of course) and i'm also open to trades. i will post pics asap, or i can email them to you. i can't text pictures.
