Froome aiming to lead cycling into new drugs-free era — BBC
Defending Tour de France champion Chris Froome (Sky) said he’s doubly motivated to win a second yellow jersey next summer to help cycling turn the page on its dirty past.
Speaking to BBC, Froome said another Tour victory is his top goal for 2014, adding that another win would help cycling bolster its image after a string of doping scandals.
“I’d like to think if I can go back and do it again, it will bring some credibility back to the sport,” Froome told BBC. “I know for a fact some people were dubious about the results I got last [season] and Bradley [Wiggins] the year before.”
Froome is joining his Team Sky teammates on Mallorca this year to plot the 2014 season.
Defending his Tour crown will be the top goal, and he said he’s confident the majority of the peloton is racing clean now, in sharp contrast to Lance Armstrong and the dopers of the EPO era.
“I know myself that my results aren’t going to be stripped, but it will take time before people will see they are going to stand,” Froome continued. “I think we’re through the toughest time of it now.
“It is really a minority of riders breaking the rules now and getting caught, but we are still living in the post-doping era where we are having to deal with a lot of negativity.”

- $1,200 - Originally posted at $1,375. Not as much room to negotiate at $1,200 but this is a fair price from what I have seen on ebay and bicycle blue book. No more reductions. Will wait til spring to sell if this doesn't do it.
