Highland Silver Lake Trail |
Silver Lake Trail is
located in Highland, Illinois that is particularly used
by mountain bike riders from the metro east area. It's
an out and back trail (not a loop). It's approximately
4.5 miles in length that traverses throughout native
timber and along the contour of the southern, east side
of the lake.
There are 14 bridges to
cross with tight turns, quick inclines and periodic
scenic areas. Pretty cool stuff for most any trail there
days. Highland can be gotten to by taking Interstate 70
to Route 143. Upon reaching the top of the hill after
crossing the lake, follow the park road to the back near
pavilion #5 and the climbing wall. For more
