Over
the past few years I've run across Dan Schmatz at
various events. A few years back I tagged along on a
trip to Seven Springs, PA.
After
arriving, we decided to watch some of the Dual
Slalom since I'd never really seen that event
before. Who do think was there competing in the
thick of things? Dan Schmatz!
I'd
lost track on Dan myself but those of you in the
industry kept tabs on him.
With
last years construction of the THF racing team,
Dan's presence in St. Louis was again established.
The plan was for the Boulder THF team to become a
fully functional Pro team in 2002. That was then.
This is now.
Sometimes
these twists and turns offer new challenges in
terms of teams and sponsors. I'd say the right
tools are in place.
In
the coming months, Dan will be providing a glimpse
into the world of Pro cycling for STLBIKING.com.
So look for future training tips and Interviews of
his own with other nationally known cyclists.
